The Borough Blog – July 2020

Welcome to The Borough Blog!

As our patients know through direct email communications, we were delighted to be able to re-open the Practice on 8th June as allowed by the Government. We have now managed to re-schedule all patients who missed an appointment during lockdown. We are therefore booking appointments as normal once more and are also welcoming new patients again. Feel free to give the practice a call on 01725 510303.

Farewell to Marie Healey – We are very sad to say farewell to our hygienist, Marie Healey, who is moving on from the practice after six years to further her facial aesthetics business (www.mhaesthetics.co.uk). Like us, I’m sure our patients will miss Marie’s lovely, warm and fun personality and skills as a hygienist but we wish her every success for the future. We look forward to staying in touch with Marie, husband Scott and their daughter Maisie.

Our other hygienists, Vickie, Clare and Ian will continue to provide our hygiene care at the practice, and Clare will be offering a Saturday hygiene service for the rest of 2020 while we recruit another hygienist to the team.

Community Support Service Ending – After four months and nearly 250 shopping orders fulfilled for vulnerable/shielding patients, we are finally bringing our community support service to an end next week. Luke would like to sincerely thank his daughter Olivia and our nurses, Tash and Amy (and Amy’s boyfriend Carl), who helped pick out shopping during lockdown for this service. We would also like to thank Waitrose Salisbury who sponsored the hire of a van for the first eight weeks of shutdown.

We are still here to help so if any vulnerable/shielding patients have an emergency or need help during the ongoing COVID crisis, please do email the practice and we will do what we can to help.

Welcome to Hershey! – We are delighted to introduce the latest member of the team, our new family puppy called Hershey. She will no doubt be seen playing in the garden from time to time!

New Patient Experience – Visiting the practice is a little different to normal due to the current COVID precautions. Do please click on the video below so you can see the protocols in place to protect our patients.

And Finally…….

Perhaps I was a little straight-laced in our video compared to some – Click on the image below to see ‘The Singing Dentist’ explain, as only he can, about PPE precautions!

With best wishes,

Jenny
